Costas Tsourakis is a Greek-American bass-baritone based in New York City. He recently performed Don Magnifico in Rossini’s La Cenerentola with Theater Rudolstadt, Germany in February and is returning to Sarasota Opera for the 2017-2018 season.

Solo concert credits include Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Finzi’s In Terra Pax, Haydn’s Nelsonmesse, Rheinberger’s Star Of Bethlehem, Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols and Handel’s Messiah.
Mr. Tsourakis has performed at the Verbier Music Festival in Verbier, Switzerland, Opera On The Avalon in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Music Academy International in Trentino, La Lingua della Lirica in Novafeltria both in Italy, concerts in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem with the Israeli Philharmonic, and in Weimar, Germany. He has sung in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Symphony Space and the Archdiocesan Cathedral Of The Holy Trinity in New York City, where he also serves as Associate Music Director.
In addition to his passion for performing, Mr. Tsourakis is a dedicated music educator who regularly teaches young musicians. He sits on the Education and Governing committees of MasterVoices (formerly The Collegiate Chorale) and is the founding president of the Frank Sinatra School Of The Arts Alumni Association.
Mr. Tsourakis is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University (EdM), Manhattan School Of Music (MMus), and SUNY Purchase (BMus).
